And no I don’t mean the kick-ass Korean monster movie (with more cyanide than you can possibly imagine). I’m talking about Stephanie Meyer’s recent new piece of great American literature. I know a lot of you have read it by now, but I’d like to fill in the details for those of you who are as surprised as I was when I read that it got picked up for a movie (and had to go scouring the interwebs to figure out what the hell it was). Here’s the synopsis:
“Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, didn’t expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
As Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she’s never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.”
So, it’s the same love triangle that was used in the ever-so-romantic Twilight Saga, except instead of vampires and werewolves, it takes place during the aftermath of “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. Pretty cool, huh? I bet that humans can tell who is possessed by how sparkly a person’s skin is when they walk out in the sun. Or maybe it’s all the time since it only makes sense for vampires, because everyone knows that vampires don’t like the sunlight. Obvi.
I’m gonna put down my copies of Ender’s Game and Game of Thrones and pick this up, so I can read some REAL sci-fi/fantasy for once! Take it from one of Meyer’s biggest fans: “she rite good. bettr then u, stoopid. stephen king dosnt even hav a country, so why is he a king? stephanie meyer is a OMG OMG OMG NEW SHIRTLESS JACOB PICS! YESSSSSSSSSSS!”
